You expound upon the subject matter in a thoughtful manner...considering the nuances. That's a tough task to do, which you did......not "knee jerk." Feeling compelled to match your contemplation I did the same...and I came down on separating the times with the character. ...I think this "take others with MY MISERY" is not something new. ...I believe it's old and is a character deficit. ...The contemporary stresses are unique, but, in my opinion, this type of narcissistic self-centered character deficit is nothing unique to our times. However, it's a very thought provoking column/topic.....certain to elicit many vantage points/views. Now after that the strain of being expansively thoughtful ...which you compelled me to do...is over.......I must say this SOB showed his own selfish "it's all about me" foundation when he indulged in writing his high faloutin intellectual manifesto. ....Yeah Pal you told everybody.....BUT at the end of the day you left your daughter in shambles, without a home, and fatherless.
